The only requirement is that your vehicle can be clearly identified when you book. For that we need the vehicle identification number.
What is a VIN?
The VIN — also called FIN in German-speaking countries — is your vehicle identification number. It identifies your vehicle uniquely and usually consists of 17 characters.
We ask for it when you book so your vehicle can be clearly assigned — especially when it carries no number plates.
Where do I find the VIN?
You will usually find it:
- in the vehicle registration document
- beneath the windscreen
- in the door frame
- or in the engine bay
Good to know: Many people do not recognise the terms VIN or FIN. Both mean the vehicle identification number stamped on your vehicle.
