Spring is here and soon Vienna’s Easter markets will open again. From Schönbrunn to Freyung, from Am Hof to Hernals, Vienna offers a mix of tradition, crafts, and food.
If you arrive by car, you know the drill: short-term zones, crowded streets, and the hunt for a space. This guide shows which Easter markets to visit in 2026 and where to park stress-free before you dive in.
Short-term parking in Vienna: What to know at Easter
Vienna has city-wide short-term parking. On weekdays you may park for up to 2 hours, and the parking fee is €1.70 per half hour. For a full day at an Easter market, that quickly gets expensive and impractical.
At Easter: Good Friday is not a public holiday in Austria, so short-term zones apply as usual (Mon–Fri 9am–10pm). On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (5–6 April 2026), short-term zones do not apply and on-street parking is free. Bear in mind that spaces near the markets are still often full on Easter weekend.
Our tip: Book your space in advance with Repark and take the U-Bahn or walk to your chosen Easter market.
