Changing jobs raises questions. Who will be in the interview? How many appointments are there? Do I have to complete a task? And when will I hear how things are going?

We want you to know what to expect from the start. So here is how our application process generally works.

The individual steps can vary a little depending on the position. The goal always stays the same: we want to find out whether the role, the team and Repark are a good fit for you – and you should get enough insight to make the same decision for yourself.

The application process at a glance

  1. You send us your application.
  2. We get to know each other in a short conversation.
  3. You have a more detailed conversation with your future team.
  4. You work on a practical task.
  5. You present your solution and meet more people from the team.
  6. Both sides decide whether it’s a fit.

Depending on the role, individual conversations can be combined or additional people can join.

1. Your application

It all starts with your application for one of our open positions – or with a speculative application.

What we definitely need is your CV. A classic cover letter is not a must. Instead you can send us work samples, selected projects, your portfolio or a few personal lines.

What matters is not that your application follows a particular format. It should help us get to know your previous experience, your skills and your motivation.

2. Getting to know each other

In the first short conversation we want to get a basic impression of each other.

We talk about your path so far, your expectations and why you’re interested in Repark and the advertised position. At the same time you get first information about the role, the team and the next steps.

The conversation usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes and can take place by phone or online.

You don’t need to prepare for a classic job interview. At this point it’s about clarifying the most important basics and seeing whether a more detailed conversation makes sense for both sides.

3. The conversation with your future team

In the next step you meet people from the area you would later work in.

We talk in more detail about:

  • your previous experience,
  • your professional knowledge,
  • how you prefer to work,
  • the concrete tasks of the position,
  • the expectations on both sides.

Of course you should ask questions too. We want to give you a realistic impression of what to expect in everyday work, including the topics that are demanding or not yet fully solved.

We’re not looking for perfect CVs. We’re interested in what you can already do, how you approach tasks and which areas you want to develop in.

4. The practical task

For some positions a small practical task is part of the application process.

That could be a coding task, the analysis of a specific situation or drafting a short concept. The task is based on topics that are also relevant in the advertised role.

The point is not to get as much unpaid work as possible. We want to understand how you think, which questions you ask and how you arrive at a solution.

You get a clear task and enough time to work on it. If questions come up, you can get in touch with us at any time.

5. Your presentation

In the next conversation you present your solution to us.

We’re not only interested in the result, but above all in how you got there:

  • Which considerations were decisive for you?
  • Which assumptions did you make?
  • Which alternatives did you look at?
  • What would you do differently with more information or time?

Afterwards we discuss your solution together and ask you further questions about the position and about working together.

Depending on the role, you’ll also meet our founder or other people from the company at this appointment.

6. Meeting the team

A job doesn’t only consist of tasks. Who you work with and how you work together matters just as much.

That’s why you meet more members of our seven-person team before a final decision. You get an impression of how we work together and can ask questions that may only have come up during the application process.

This step isn’t a one-sided assessment either. You should be able to judge whether you see yourself in the team, in the way we work and in your future area of responsibility.

7. The decision

Once the agreed steps are completed, we make our decision and get back to you as quickly as possible.

We don’t collect applications over weeks to compare them after a fixed deadline. We review them continuously, in the order they arrive. If we’re convinced that it’s a fit on both sides, we don’t drag the process out artificially.

And just as important: you also decide whether Repark is the right next step for you.

Conversations that fit into your everyday life

We know that many applicants are still employed elsewhere during the application process.

So we try to coordinate appointments in a way that works with your everyday life. Depending on the conversation and the position, appointments can also take place online. If a proposed time doesn’t work for you, just say so.

What matters to us in the application process

Clear communication: You should know which step comes next, who will be there and what it’s about.

A realistic insight: We don’t want to sell you a glossy picture. You should understand which tasks, expectations and challenges come with the role.

Conversations as equals: We’re not only checking whether you fit Repark. You should be able to find out just as much whether Repark fits you.

A professional foundation and room to grow: You don’t have to fully meet every requirement in a job ad. A solid professional foundation, a willingness to learn and an independent way of working matter just as much to us.

No unnecessary loops: We keep the process as thorough as necessary and as lean as possible.

Any questions?

If questions come up before or during your application, get in touch. We’ll openly answer whatever you want to know about the position, the process or working at Repark.
